Helen Bannan BSC(Hons) MSc
Head Instructor
WPKA World Kickboxing Champion 2007
Helen Founded Complete Fitness in 2003 with the purpose of providing a quality service for people who are frustrated with slogging away in gyms with no results or repeated injuries.
Helen's approach to training is to use her extensive sporting background and sport psychology training to make it exercise as fun and varied as possible whilst being keen on accurate technique (often heard saying, "Quality over Quantity - but if you can get both...... I'm a happy lady!").
With over 7 years experience in the fitness industry, a degree in Sport Science and a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Helen does not like to rest on her current base of knowledge and is always looking to update it with different courses and reading. Her current project is working towards becoming an accredited Sport and Exercise Psychologist later on this year.
Helen has experience with a wide range of clients, ranging from 13 years - 70+years, from all walks of life, with a huge variety of personal goals from recovery from injury, to change in lifestyle, and loss of weight to national level athletes.
Helen has Lectured in Sport Psychology at the University of East London and has provided Sport Psychology Workshops and Seminars for athletes and coaching/support staff.
Helen's own sporting credentials, which include playing mixed hockey for the Isle of Man under 21 team and competing at county level for the Isle of Man in swimming, archery and tennis, have recently been added to when she won the WPKA World Kickboxing Championship held in Northern Greece in May 2007. This was her first World Championship and Helen achieved this through physical effort in training and also with the use of psychological skills to help her maintain concentration and stay relaxed under pressure.
